Routine not working? Have a cabinet full of products that don't work? Skin care routine not giving what they said it was supposed to give?
Finding the right products and routine can be a hassle, but that ends today. We're here to walk you through building a simple yet effective routine!
Step #1: Choose a cleanser
When choosing a cleanser, you should look for formula that cleans away the dirt, makeup, and acne-causing bacteria without stripping your skin of moisture.
Here are some ingredients to look for when choosing a cleanser for your skin care issues:
- Acne: Tea Tree Oil, Honey, Green Tea, Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera
- Dryness: Sunflower Seed Oil, Honey, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Shea butter, Glycerin
- Oily: Tea Tree Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Almond Oil
- Hyperpigmentation: Rosemary Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Tea Tree Oil
- Irritation: Peppermint Oil, Oatmeal
Step #2: Choose an exfoliator
When exfoliating your face, choose an exfoliator that is gentle, yet effective. The job of an exfoliator is to remove dead skin and build-up.
Sugar scrubs are a great product to use for exfoliating, but ensure that they do not contain any other harmful fragrances, colorants, and/or ingredients when using them.
Black Vanity has a new shea sugar scrub coming soon! Join our email list (scroll to the bottom of this page) to be alerted when it drops.
Step #3: Choose your moisturizer
Skin Care Hack: Do not dry you face after washing and exfoliating. Apply your moisturizer to your damp skin to lock in the hydration & moisture.
When choosing your moisturizer, you want to make sure that it does not clog your pores, protects your skin from the elements of the environment, and keeps the hydration locked for as long as possible.
Once you've chosen all those products, apply them in the order they were discussed in this article. Remain consistent for at least 30 days and you'll begin to notice a difference!
